A 13-YEAR-OLD who started playing the piano a year ago has been offered regular gigs in restaurants.
Caitlyn Skelsey, who began busking in Durham City to make pocket money, made her debut at Brunello, in West Boldon, South Tyneside, on Saturday.
Caitlyn, a pupil at Stanley School of Technology, in County Durham, said: “I like everything about playing the piano and I knew it was for me straight away. I don’t know how I have got as good as I have so quickly.”
Previously, she has performed at Wynyard Hall, near Stockton, The Dun Cow, near Houghton-le-Spring, Wearside, and the Ravensworth, near Lamesley, Gateshead.
Her repertoire includes classical music as well as hits by The Beatles, The Jam and Frank Sinatra.
One of her ambitions is to go on Britain’s Got Talent.
She said: “I would love to be good enough to go on that show, so I am going to do a lot more practice.
“It would mean everything to me to go and win.”
